The roof is flat and there’s an entrance at the middle of the house. The grey metal roof is slightly slanted and guests can see the other side of the garden through the middle entrance just from the driveway. The renovation created a bedroom nestled in the treetops, this room was connected to the other room by a glass bridge. There, there are some large skylights above the glass bridge too. The kitchen is natural, clutter free and is calm with its light brown color and dark grey countertop and light grey range hood. Other parts of the interiors are stylish and is accented with wood especially for the ceiling of the top floor. Architect: Metcalfe A&D. Photography by Barry Halkin.

Its flat roof along with the overall horizontal design is a wonderful contrast to the slope, and its boxy shape is just another beautiful point that would steal passers attention. The sandy wall is cut and decorated with small, long window, giving it a contemporary look, adding a sense of context of being on a hill overlooking the landscape while also giving the interior an ample natural lighting. On the opposite side, natural lighting is provided via large openings while at the same time, giving the overall landscape view of the city to the interior. Ze Arquitectura.

This modern rough stone house is one of our admired projects that has been successfully integrated itself in the site through the use of materials (materials that have been used before) and colors. The architect tried to treat the interior and exterior of this modern house as if they were a single thing. By using large glazing, there are plenty possibilities to admire the outdoors from anywhere inside the natural-looking interiors. It is also possible to feel being “inside” the landscape, the living room picture and the bedroom picture should speak themselves about living inside a landscape. The rough stone walls look so natural being inside such environment. Stone, wood and metal are constructed resembles typological archetypes used in the past, by country-men and cowboys that lived in the area.
