Instead of creating a new garage door that faces at the rear, the look of the door seems that the garage door is a new entrance door. The house has gotten that such impression thanks to the small brown wooden door, the recessed design, the overhanging studio volume and the dark color of the door that mimic the color of the existing fence. As a whole, this studio looks as if this is a new building with its own address.

Moreover, the large glass wall at the pool connects the interior and the exterior of this black and white slope house, visually and perceptively. There, an interior swimming pool was created and was designed with large glass wall enclosure. There, the privacy is protected by a screen look facade decoration that distract views from the street. this white front facade decoration looks wonderful from the outside and becomes a beautiful contracting color to the black wooden wall.

After a journey through a winding road guests would end at this beautiful three stories glass house just close to lake. This modern house, the Buisson Residence was designed by architect Robert M. Gurney and is arranged in an L shape with the large white wall provides boundaries between the view of the pine forest and the lake upon arrival. The two volumes are then connected with a glass enclosed bridge. The primary living spaces is created in the large “L” volume to provide views to the lake at the west and the south while the service volume is housed in the smaller “L” volume. This volume looks as a wonderful combination with its wooden cladding. There, the second story of this house is clad in copper, giving it similar look to the wood cladding.

There have been many building in this university built with concrete in various rendering treatments and cladding. Moreover, the existing Ficus and Cypress trees that have been 120 to 180 years old are preserved and become a part of the program. This concrete building as a whole represents the university’s goal to be a catalyst and connector between AUB researchers and the global community via its three dimensional intersections. the community is connected via its paths and views including to the Mediterranean Sea to the north. It is meant to be a place a space for university’s community to meet. This university is a place for students and fellows as well as visitors to engage with each other and also to meet and engage with the wider world. Architects: Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA).
