The gable roof is sure the most interesting part of the exterior. But it is not just a design. The home actually consists of two houses in one house. The design has a purpose for giving a separated living space while maintaining a sense of privacy. From the design point of view, the home looks beautiful with its stone and minimalist wood façade. At the exterior, the driveway in the front of this home is also interesting. It is elevated above the ground level because of the slope terrain. Inside, the interiors are done in similar fashion. They interior features stone floors and wooden walls. And, the interiors also boast the similar minimalist style and similar cream and gray color combination. The interiors are also bright thanks to the large windows. These windows also capture the views of the home’s countryside neighborhood.

This “Little Brick Studio” is a building consists of a garage on the main floor and a studio above and was designed to blend with the existing house and the small houses in its neighborhood in Melbourne, Australia yet also has its own character. This small studio was finished with wonderful textured bricks inspired by the nearby brick factories in Abbotsford. A very interesting and beautiful exterior design with the bricks protrude from the wall. Also, the white color given to this wall looks so warmth and welcoming when it is combined with the dark color of the fence and the natural brown color for the fence, the pool deck and the windows’ frames.

Although this house, the “Stonehawke House” seems to be a three levels house but this top level is at the same level to the natural ground due to the sloping terrain. And, as for the rear side of the house that faces the woods, a grassed area was created as a playground for the kids and aesthetically to blend the house with the natural boulders and the bush setting more to the rear. As a whole, this modern lake house is connected to its environment through the views its captures in the interior and the accessibility to the environment.
