This 2 levels / stories house on a slope with “underground” garage belongs to architects Frederico Zanelato of Frederico Zanelato Architects. The home is located in fresh and beautiful greenery near São Paulo, Brazil. This house was built to follow the slope terrain. But the architects reshaped most part of the ground creating a stratified, two-level ground before they built the house. At the main level is the garage, this garage is sheltered by the expanded and cantilevered main volume of the house which is built on the higher level of the ground.

The wall in front of the long study desk is made of concrete with calm and almost cold color. However, the texturing of the wall and ceiling make this interior livable while the large glass doors provide ample natural lights inside. The minimalist interior design also is visible from the design of the stair. The stair there is simple and is made of concrete slabs with wooden staircase accent for the first step. There, the beautiful wall is made of white concrete with some black patterns making the look so stylish. Combined with the wooden floor, the interior is elegant, charming yet calm and a little bit cold. Also in this interior, the glass wall is wide and provides ample natural light and garden view to the interior. Upstairs, a bathroom also looks minimalist and is decorated with wood-look wall in rustic style. The wooden shelves look calm but at some parts, the shelves have red painting and also are completed with colorful storage baskets. Well, actually the playroom also is completed with colorful rug in square pattern and storage bench with orange drawers. The style and texturing for these accessories are wonderful and match nicely with the wall and the green activity desk.

The fence looks simple and almost all parts of the fence are visible thanks to its open concept garden. There are 2 volumes of the house, the big main volume and the one that looks as 2 stacked buildings. This stacked building is smaller, and has glass wall between each building.

The camping theme looks pretty adventurous and is wonderful to look at. The tent bed is a cool bed with classic, Wild West themed play tent on its top. This bed itself is made of wood in dark color making the look of the bed cool and rustic. The ambiance of adventure also comes from the cool mountainous landscape wall mural. As a backdrop for the bed, this mural looks so realistic and would engage imagination of any kid. The spacious room also is made as a place of imaginative playing. There is a fake outdoor fire pit and some wood-look low chairs / floor chairs. This toddler’s room is so cool and looks fun for any toddler’s boy.

The door leads to the grand kitchen, dining and living area of wood and concrete which the architects describe as “a strange kind of church.” There, the concrete feels cold white the wood accent feels warmth. The combination makes the home feels calm and feels comfortable.
