A simple yet beautiful cantilevered, floating granite-clad staircase is cut into the wall. Creating similar character with the entire interior design, the black floating staircase is complemented with illuminated handrail and glass balustrade. The openness of the house is maintained in the kitchen where a clear view to the garden to the east is guaranteed by frame-less doors which open up to the lanai area that faces the garden. The kitchen is protected from being too exposed to the morning sun with a balcony made of steel grating that is located at the main bathroom. Giving the study an appropriate atmosphere, beside being built facing the north side, the room is also built facing the lanai across the pool. Pyjama lounge along with the children’s bedrooms are connected to the main suite via a bridge that is built across the living room.

This house addition and renovation is an example of simple but beautiful home designs thanks to its contemporary and elegant architectural lines. This house is built on the slope with beautiful surrounding. This green area gives an additional strong sense of beauty for the house. The additions and renovation of the house were done to the main features like kitchen and the master bedroom. The existing Ginko tree becomes the focal point for the new indoor outdoor reading room. This house features carefully placed windows to connect the indoors and outdoors while at the same time are keeping privacy for the owners. The house also features pool, a second level terrace, and many bamboo trees. These last plants, are creating a serene atmosphere for the outdoors area. This house itself is located in Los Angeles. The first floor is supported by the concrete columns that that rise from the foundation to support the steel beams and the concrete deck / floor. The steel beams support the wood frame volume that houses the private area of the house, the five suites for the couple, their three sons and a guest room. As a private area, the street side is enclosed by opaque board accented by a cement slab, (made of wood and covered on both faces with a cement slab). Other materials would be glass panels along with a nylon curtain. This level is located at the trees’ crowns so the architect of Nitsche Arquitetos Associados built a common veranda accessed by all those suites via aluminum sliding doors.

The lower part of the site is the place where the kitchen, dining and living room are built, while the upper part is dedicated for the garage.
