Home Designs Niklas Larsen, Thursday, May 18th 2017, 13:08:42 PM. This house is built on a small hill with a long flat volume and cantilevered volume at one end. The roof is flat and there’s an entrance at the middle of the house. The grey metal roof is slightly slanted and guests can see the other side of the garden through the middle entrance just from the driveway. The renovation created a bedroom nestled in the treetops, this room was connected to the other room by a glass bridge. There, there are some large skylights above the glass bridge too. The kitchen is natural, clutter free and is calm with its light brown color and dark grey countertop and light grey range hood. Other parts of the interiors are stylish and is accented with wood especially for the ceiling of the top floor. Architect: Metcalfe A&D. Photography by Barry Halkin.

Since the owners love gardening and to help the building as a whole blend with its nature, the lower building’s roof was designed as a new space for gardening, since it could be seen from the higher building resulting in a continuous experience of nature. The entrance comes in stone material and is adorned with side garden. The slope terrain gives great potentials to make the house looks beautiful like making pathways that are adorned with natural stones.

The light brown color of the wood is warmth, calming and is a great match for the theme. The long dining table comes with tabletop made from wooden planks instead of one solid wood making the table looks much more charming than ordinary. The round table comes with wooden barrel leg and looks so fascinating. This table is so unique and such accent table would looks amazing in any interior but here, there are many of such accent tables. And there, each table is completed with industrial style floor lamp in grey color with interesting upside down water bucket shape for the shade.

Moving water is known to smooth out everything that comes in contact over time. Carrying similar philosophy, the “Palomba” collection by Laufen is smooth with quite unusual shape but strikingly modern. The washbasin is interesting with smaller bottom and very smooth, white surface. The bathtubs features better benefit in comfort with its high back support. The fixtures consist of eight washbasins and a series of accessories, ensuring a wide variety of styles and functions. Laufen.

The first floor is supported by the concrete columns that that rise from the foundation to support the steel beams and the concrete deck / floor. The steel beams support the wood frame volume that houses the private area of the house, the five suites for the couple, their three sons and a guest room. As a private area, the street side is enclosed by opaque board accented by a cement slab, (made of wood and covered on both faces with a cement slab). Other materials would be glass panels along with a nylon curtain. This level is located at the trees’ crowns so the architect of Nitsche Arquitetos Associados built a common veranda accessed by all those suites via aluminum sliding doors.
