This sloped house is a modern home built on a challenging inclined terrain. This open concept house is natural and elegant at once. The land was excavated and design of the house is terraced to meet both the incline site and flat areas to build the home. The construction is open to the beach and sea below. This house is actually located on a sloping terrain on a beachside overlooking the pacific ocean in Taiwan.
The top level of the house is built with roof fitted with herb garden and wonderful decking of natural material, wood. Such design is so cool and enables to hide the house from the parking area above the house. The house does look more as a garden with nicely arranged plants rather than a comfortable home.
This roof deck however, needs to be accessed from stair that is located at the lower level. One has to step down a stair and walk around a side and climb another stair. This stair is such a wonderful one, made with wooden staircases and has elegant gray metal balustrade. This design looks so natural when it is combined with the stones garden just next to the stair. And there, the design of the staircases is also quite unique. The gray metal balustrade connects to only a few of the staircases. And, most of the staircases are floating and are connected to the privacy wall with cool, natural brown color made of stucco styled concrete.
Once above, the rooftop area has cool wooden deck with beautiful wood planks arrangement. There are a few garden beds with grey color and small herbs plants. Also, there are cool wooden lounge chairs with curved design and rattan seating. From this rooftop area, the landscaping and the house’s natural setting looks as a perfect blend. The inclined garden, the stone wall and the trees look as a perfect backdrop. The waterside wooden deck, the pool and its lawn look as a perfect transition to the vast ocean view.
The design of the house itself also looks natural and elegant. The big beams are made of steel with gray painting. The wall is made in various materials like concrete, stones, wood and some walls are covered with cream tiles. At the kitchen, the stone walls are used to support the roof and to blend the home with its terraced stone wall. The stones are wrapped inside metal frames and form the large stone wall slabs. The slabs visually connect the rear stone wall of the garden and the front stone wall expands to the pebbled pool. This pool is just above another stone wall that bordered the garden. That way, the arrangement ensures that the open concept kitchen is the part of the entire landscape. The styling of the house looks elegant, natural and is sure impressive.
Besides the floor and ceiling, wood material also is used to build the custom kitchen island. The kitchen island is long, has mirrored pedestal and has inclined part that slopes to the wood floor. The kitchen island looks elegant and looks float at once. And there, to further decorating the kitchen, the area is completed with elegant sphere pendant lamps. The lamps have dark gray shade and look blend nicely with the gray metal beams and the wall.
Another interesting space in this beach house would be the bedroom. This space has amazing ocean view and one part has green garden view. This space is elegant and has cool black, rustic wooden wall at its headboard side. The bedroom has two terraces with one is a private terrace. The bed area is made of wood platform with large wood planks in black painting. The mattress is simply put on the platform and has no bedside table. However, there are two table lamps for the bed. One with a calm gray lamp shade and one is made of glass with candle look light inside. And just inside this bedroom, there’s a bathroom with open concept and private design at once. At rear, the bathroom is enclosed in glass wall and is further enclosed by stone wall from the terraced garden. There, the open space gives the feeling of openness and privacy.
This inclined house is a beautiful house built on a terraced terrain. The slope site was excavated into 6 levels. Each features stone wall decoration. This house has wood and tiles material for wall, floor and ceiling that make the entire house looks natural. This sloped house blends nicely with its environment yet still exposes its cool and elegant identity. Create + Think Design Studio.
