This unusual yet modern house design is located in GuMiDong, BunDang, SungNam, Korea and was designed by architects at IROJE KHM Architects. The first impression of the unique yet elegant angled geometric façade is not a complete impression to judge the quality of the house. Although this front part of the house is really stunning with its contrast coloring and texture of the façade’s materials, the complete impression for the justification can be obtained only after entering the house.
This two story house is clad with glass to invite the views of the beautiful garden that was designed as the center of interest but is hidden from the passers by high zinc-plate walls. This lushly landscape is simple in design but from the pictures below we can see clearly that the place is a great retreat garden for the owners.
This house is a remodeled from1950’s house and is located on the peninsula south of San Francisco. The architects of Turnbull Griffin Haesloop Architects focused the four buildings that make up the house to the existing pond and adding some sustainable features. The four buildings in this house are the main house, study, a pool house and a garage. This existing pond was designed to look as a natural pond, there are some large stone, flower and some small plants that make this pond looks like a calm river. Just next to the pool, the main house houses living room which is divided in some smaller living areas. These areas have various styles, from a formal with sofa to the casual one with the rounded table. These living areas are bordered with expansive glasses that reveal the views of the nearby pond and the garden just after the pond. There’s also a long pool surrounded by secluded plants creating a holiday atmosphere in daily life. This house also features photo-voltaic cells, passive cooling, geothermal radiant heating, high fly-ash concrete, formaldehyde-free casework and denim insulation.
