Building sits in silence still, as a cold signpost. The design becomes a part, a fragment of its scenic surrounding. The unique concrete house becomes a backdrop for the passers-by by imposing a bold architectural design that differs from any standard design of architectural.
The house was designed to maintain its appeal and superiority as a high quality rental unit. It is located close to the former home of one of the famous prime ministers of 20th century Japan. The façade is curved and looks unique from the outside. The area is a pretty hectic area with quite busy road. The house is long, features a series of curved concrete walls and voids and also features minimalist garden with some big trees. The exterior wall is wonderfully textured with calm and stylish texturing. And, behind each wall, there’s a stair lead directly to the first floor At nights, great exterior lighting system ensures the house looks elegant at all time and very interesting.
Once inside, the façade is more geometric that the front façade. There’s an inside courtyard with grass and some trees. The interior design of this house is minimalist and is adorned with wood floor and wonderful textured wall with rustic style. The home office in this building is rather simple in design with its long table completed with a few armchairs.
The wall in front of the long study desk is made of concrete with calm and almost cold color. However, the texturing of the wall and ceiling make this interior livable while the large glass doors provide ample natural lights inside. The minimalist interior design also is visible from the design of the stair. The stair there is simple and is made of concrete slabs with wooden staircase accent for the first step. There, the beautiful wall is made of white concrete with some black patterns making the look so stylish. Combined with the wooden floor, the interior is elegant, charming yet calm and a little bit cold. Also in this interior, the glass wall is wide and provides ample natural light and garden view to the interior. Upstairs, a bathroom also looks minimalist and is decorated with wood-look wall in rustic style. However, the floor tiles is black and is in glossy color making the bathroom as a whole looks a little bit glamorous. Architect: Artechnic. Pictures by Nacasa & Partners.
