The irregular shape and angle also present in its modern interior. Walking through its linear living spaces, you would find an unexpected experience of angle from the ceiling, walls and floor. One of the passages has wonderful wood flooring, white wall and triangular shaped ceiling. This interior looks minimalist yet also looks bright enough with natural lights shine from one of a corner.

The modern interior design is done in the same theme, warmth and inviting but more colorful. One of the entrances has wonderful wooden deck flooring pathway shaded with canopy with black frames. The wooden interior is painted in red, honey, purple and blonde. The dining area has impressive textures for the wooden ceiling and wall. And there, there’s a stair made of minimalist wooden planks staircases. And once the owners climb the stair, the large glass wall and the forest view are waiting at one side of the wall. The modern kitchen is done in with strong black accents of the furniture and the black steel column. The kitchen has wooden cabinetry and is completed with elegant black soapstone countertop. And there, the kitchen island also comes in wood with black countertop and legs. The industrial-styled roof looks bright and is made of translucent canopy with black metal frames.

The space near the pool seems to be a perfect space to spend some fun times with family. The wooden deck and the fence for the pool are great to blend the new studio with the existing house since these have similar color with the windows’ frames of the new building. This modern black and white slope house is part of the 29 lots that were built in an area in Brisbane, Australia by Base Architecture. The design concept was building a house that reflects its protected wooded surrounding yet exuding its own character. The house is firmly planted at the slope of the hill. A concrete form with finish that reflects the charred timber in its internal finish that also is used as a pool acts as a “base” of the building. Moreover, large stones are used to cover the front side of the house, further blending the entire building in its environment.

There, there is opportunity to built a building with a 7 meter difference in surface level enabling the architect to play with form and function. The footprint was constrained to the original landscape master plan so the reading room, conference workshops and research rooms are lifted above the entrance courtyard. The auditorium with its 100 seats are located on the ground floor, making the students away from any distraction.
