Ornamental Grass is a beautiful spot in our gardens, anyone loves it since it brings some freshness in our home. If you want to plant this grass, there are some tips from us on how to plant ornamental grass. First, there are some types of ornamental grass, the most popular are the Pampas Grass, Ribbon Grass and the Fountain Grass. There are other varieties like the Switch Grass, Indian Grass and the Fescue.
It is important to establish the root system of the grass before winter, so you should plant your grass in the springtime, or at least in the early fall. Most of the plants will not reach the full foliage growth before three years and you should provide enough space between plants to enable them to growth at full size.
After planting the ornamental grass, you will still need to water your grass consistently until the root systems have become established. During the first year, it is necessary to water the grasses at least one inch every week. You can also use a slow-release fertilizer every spring to support their growth. You could also protect the root during winter by surrounding the plant with mulch in the fall.
